thinkMEDIA was actively involved
with the organization from 1997-2000. Leading the 1999
event's marketing and publicity efforts, we directed the site selection process and
other pre-event activities that proved critical to the event's eventual success.
The search concluded with our recommendation -- Marathon Village,
a turn-of-the-century manufacturing campus of the only automobile
ever produced in Nashville's city limits. Our event quickly
adopted an early 1900's theme with an antique car exhibit, street party,
silent auction, and USO show.
In addition to securing
a partnership with the owners of Marathon Village, we led several marketing
and public relations initiatives,
including: the securing of 100% donations from the Monadnock Paper
Company and Lithographics Printing in the production of a 12-page
invitation/brochure; concepting, writing and direction of the brochure;
copy and content
coordination of event press releases; and correspondence for the ever-important patrons' kickoff party.
The 1999 event raised $100,000 to fight the number one genetic
killer of children and young adults.
